Flu Like Symptoms And Lump On Neck

cylinder head and spark plug

Like many other two-stroke engines from the 50's also has one of the Sachs 175 18mm spark plug threads. As early as 1982 I had made me a bushing, which allowed me to use a modern 14mm candle. This socket I use now in my prepared cylinder head.

The 18mm spark plug holes in its original condition.

The prepared bushing.

The bushing is screwed into the cylinder head (combustion chamber side view).

The bushing is screwed into the cylinder head (exterior view).

the spark plug (here a Bosch Platinum W4CP) is screwed into the cylinder head.

The spark plug is screwed into the bushing in the cylinder head (combustion chamber side view).
What does this change?
The engine is 56 years old. 30 years ago we got the big 18 mm candles to buy only sporadically. And different only in 2 or 3 heat levels. I then had already observed that the engine was running with a modern 14mm candle uniform and a little less used. The best results I achieved at the time with the newly entered the market, platinum spark plugs with a ground electrode. This candle I used with success for the Vespa (converted to 135 cc PX80E) scooter my girlfriend. These candles were burning freely well and had virtually no misfires. The hot driven state, the engines were still clean and not after it sparkled when parking. Maybe I will at this point, here are the new taste DENSO Iridium spark plugs, which I drive currently in my Triumph Scrambler. But first must run the engine again - this may take a long time but now no longer ...

Driver 067b-2303 Descargar

Old photos

Did I just found it: an old slide, about 1980 on Jaufenpass Date:

2 persons with luggage and tents and a few spare parts in the tank bag. Holiday travel from Munich to Lake Garda and back. Was it wonderful, that was fine with 9.5 HP. We are of course only roads down.

Homemade Cheer Sticks

carburetor and air filter (II)

The intake is finally mounted on the cylinder. So I can now use the 26 mm Bing carburetors with choke and the large air filter with silencer.
The group now looks and fits exactly into the room between the cylinder and the rear fender.

Dried Tongue During Sleep

new paper gasket for the clutch cover

The clutch housing cover should be at the Sachs engine mounted with a .25 to .35 mm thick paper gasket to the engine block so that the axial pressure for the sealing rings to kick starter and shift shaft is not too great. These are paper gasket for the clutch cover is still to buy certain brands, but I have I quickly made himself, as before.
  • punch with 8 mm punch two holes in the lid for fitting sleeves.

  • sealing surface on the cover at the edges around the holes and paint them with felt-tip pen. Sealing paper plane at the lid and rub the edges with a rounded piece of wood - this is the housing contour perfectly on the paper.

  • Remove sheet and along the outer contour cut with scissors. Then the missing holes for the body screws with a matching hole flute cut (circular motion, Sharpening before at best).

  • Now the inner contour with a small curve scissors trimming. The land width should not be less than 5mm, because the paper could rip too easily.

  • sealing paper for assembly with grease or better yet replace with a non-hardening sealing compound on the lid. Forgot

  • Before montaged not cover, the cable for the mount idle Finder . Put cap back on schedule now and tighten the screws crosswise in several steps. Should be somewhere on some paper, it can now be easily cut with a sharp knife flush. Done.

How Old Is Tawnee Stone

air filter housing

the air filter housing with an integrated silencer made of painted steel sheet I have rusted over the holidays, and (with a brush) painted in silver color. have looked about 55 years ago it would have before.

Adjusting Polaris Gas Shocks

The Sachs idle Finder

The 150 and 175 cc engines Sachs from the 50's had a "neutral finder" that could be operated by a cable from the handlebar with a small lever.
1) shows the entrance of the cable into the connector housing,
2) here the cable is hooked into the neutral gear lever.
With the clutch pulled so comfortable you could insert any gear out of the next idle (yes, the gear had 3 neutral positions). The foot shifter that's sometimes not as comfortable (eg, when the foot just for supporting on the ground needed), and was a neutral indicator light's still not at that time, yes.

Viideos; Milena Velba

All the best for 2010!

Allen I wish my readers a Happy New Year.
May your projects go ahead well.
For me it has become more quiet, because it is very cold in my junk hall at the time. But I'm going to paint the paper gasket for the clutch cover and silver make removing rust and then the air filter housing.
